The bandwagon appeal essentially works off of the notion of "everyone is doing it." It is similar to the strategy of peer pressure when someone does something for acceptance and out of fear of missing out on something. Advertisers who implement this technique convince the viewer to support the cause or buy the product because if they don't, then they will miss out on something. This technique is very popular for politicians during major political campaigns to gain them support.
